PT 10~20 hrs/wk, $22/hr. Scheduled shifts typically range between 6~8 hours during which time the Ice Cream Sous Chef will assist in the daily production of wholesale and retail ice cream/yogurt/ sherbet/sorbet products, remain on his/her feet for the entire period, ensure quality control standards are meet, and sanitizing procedures are followed.
Essential Job Functions:
- Ensure that the highest quality of ice cream/yogurt/sherbet/sorbets are produced by following established recipes and perform all required production procedures.
- Develop a daily production list and efficient production schedule.
- Maintain production housekeeping and sanitation of production equipment, ingredients’ storage containers and work area.
- Disassemble, clean/sanitize and reassemble all required equipment.
- Ensure that finished products are placed in clean/sanitized containers and properly labeled.
- Assist in maintaining an adequate inventory of ingredients and wholesale/retail ice creams
Non-Essential Job Functions:

- Interact with wholesale and retail customers and ensure that their questions, concerns, and requirements are met.
Requirements:
- Two years college, trade school or two years of successful employment with a company.
- 20+ years of age.
- Ability to lift and move heavy items (up to 60 lbs) repeatedly.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Aptitude for mechanical processes with good troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
- Ability to read and write legibly in English.
- Excellent interpersonal communication, math, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work a rotating shift schedule with weekends, holidays, and overtime.
- Have reliable transportation to and from work.
